Jack’s Family Restaurant opened its doors for the first time to the public early this morning.
A line began forming around 2:30 AM outside the new eatery in Luverne. Residents from all over the county lined up to secure free breakfast for a month provided by Jack’s to the first 50 customers.
Noah Knotts, a student at Luverne School, was the first in line. Noah and his dad, Bruce Knotts arrived at 2:30 AM. They were not sure what they were going to order first, but dad knew he had to get coffee and take his wife something back home. Noah previously won $100 from the Jack’s in Troy, AL, and was very excited to learn Jack’s was opening a restaurant in his hometown.
Living across the street from Jack’s, Joan King joined the growing line at 3:30 AM. Her husband loved Jack’s and was looking forward to Jack’s opening so close, but sadly, he passed away in October and was unable to see the Jack’s completed.
Even though the line stretched through the parking lot, the wait, once the restaurant opened at 5 AM, was minimal. The employees kept things moving quickly, making sure everyone was in and out with a delicious and hot breakfast as quickly as possible.
Charles Oswald was stopping by Jack’s to pick up breakfast before work. Unfortunately, he picked up more than he planned on. Oswald had the first fender bender at the new restaurant. He was backing up to leave and did not see the car behind him. Thankfully, no one was injured and he still was able to get breakfast before work.
Jack’s Family Restaurant features southern style items including a fried green tomato BLT, Chicken Sandwich, fried chicken and burgers. They pride themselves in their made from scratch biscuits which can be smothered in gravy, stuffed with link sausage, or simply buttered. The options are vast and all are delicious. Jack’s offers a variety of salads that are sure to please everyone’s taste buds. Desserts include hand dipped, hand mixed milkshakes that come in a variety of flavors including moose tracks, chocolate chip cookie dough, lemonade, peach, and of course all the usual flavors as well.
Jack’s also gives rewards for purchases made that can add up to free food. They offer a free fry or fried pie just for signing up for the app. Other rewards include a free birthday shake, App anniversary drink, and rewards for referring friends and family. Who doesn’t love free food?
