Mr. Donald Lee White, 74, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Funeral services for Mr. White were held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 17th, at the Luverne Church of Christ with Brother Steven Foster and Brother John Dickinson. Interment followed in Sardis Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. White proudly served his country with the United States Air Force for several years. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Troy University before he went to work for the State of Alabama. In his free time, he enjoyed numerous different activities, from gardening & caring for his lawn to watching NASCAR & playing both tennis and ping pong. On Saturdays in the fall, he could be found cheering on the Auburn Tigers football team and quiet evenings at home by the fire with family and friends. He and his beloved wife, Elizabeth, also enjoyed traveling around the South, and they were especially fond of their visits to the beach and Nashville.

Mr. White possessed one of the most charismatic and infectious personalities that you could meet. He was the kind of person who absolutely lit up any room he walked into and could instantly make a person’s day better. He was a longtime, faithful member of Sardis Church of Christ, and he fully demonstrated the love of Christ in this world. His loving and generous heart was open to helping anyone, and so many depended on him throughout his life. (hitechgazette) He certainly faced hard times with great loss, but he was such a positive influence on everyone’s life because he always found a way to keep a smile on his face and in his heart. He leaves behind an enviable legacy of love in how to care for others as Christ intended, and a model for all those who knew him to follow.
