County schools participate in band camp

The band members of Crenshaw County Schools have been working hard this week to perfect their sound and halftime shows for the upcoming season. All three schools have been taking to the field in extreme heat conditions to learn new music and new marching choreography.
Many students are already sporting sunburns but continue to work through the pain, since we all know the show must go on. The band directors and staff are making sure the students stay safe and hydrated and are avoiding the field during the hottest part of the day and taking things back inside for cooler conditions.
The heat index has been over 100 this week and is expected to reach 110 on Friday.
