34th Annual Rodeo Aug 6-7

Crenshaw County Rodeo is coming to the Tom Harbin Farm Center this coming weekend, August 6 and 7. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s rodeo will be the 34th annual rodeo in Crenshaw County. The Volunteer Fire Association took over the event in 2012. Prior to 2012, the Kiwanis Club and Saddle Club managed the event. There are 12 fire departments throughout the county that will benefit from the funds raised by the rodeo.

National Cowboy Pro Rodeo Association 5T Company will be bringing the event to Luverne. Saddle Bronc, Breakaway, Bareback, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, and Barrel Racing will be among the events scheduled for both nights. Mutton Bustin’ will start at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
Saturday morning kicks off a special needs rodeo that is free to attend. The events begin at 10 a.m.
“Saturday will be a terrific event for the special needs kids in our area,” Stae Sanders, rodeo coordinator, said.
Kids under 12 will be admitted in free at this year’s rodeo if they wear this year’s rodeo t-shirt.
Admission is $10 for Adults and $5 for children.
