Mr. Richard Noel Dozier, 93, a resident of Burlington, North Carolina and formerly of Dozier, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021. Mr. Dozier proudly served his country first with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and then with the Alabama Air National Guard as a firefighter. He retired after 27 years with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was known far and wide for his marvelous sense of humor, always being able to elicit a smile or laugh from anyone. He was also famous for his delicious chicken and dumplings, a deceptively difficult dish to make. Above all, he was a devoted husband, Daddy, Granddaddy, and “PawPaw” who loved his family more than anything on this earth. He was generous with both his family and friends, making him a beloved part of all of their lives. Words cannot properly express how much he will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, but they will treasure all of the wonderful memories they made over a lifetime.
Mr. Dozier was preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Dozier; parents, R. Walter & Lucille Pendry Dozier; and siblings, Lt. Col. Erma J. Dozier, Byron Dozier, Tommie Dozier, and Reginald Dozier.
