Crenshaw County 2021 2022 Distinguished Young Women was one of many young ladies who served as a hostess at Governor’s Mansion for the Monday night Candlelight Christmas tours.

Every year, the Governor’s Mansion opens itself to the public for self-guided candlelight tours during the first three Monday nights in December.

Participants in the tours get to view the Governor’s Mansion holiday decor and enjoy live music by different children’s choirs each night on the mansion staircase.

Rooms open to the public the tour, including the main entrance, dining room, sitting room, sunroom, and more, feature holiday decor by volunteer designers from around the state.

Jerry Thrash of Capitol’s Rosemont Gardens did this year’s designs and decorations.

Although tours are free, participants require a ticket to enter the building. Tickets are available at the Governor’s Mansion Gift Shop and the Sweet Home Alabama gift shop on Adams Avenue.

Tours typically last close to forty-five minutes, and you must make reservations with 48 hours’ advance notice.

The final tours for the year occurred on Monday, December 20.
