The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division arrested Anthony Gregory Davault, of Rutledge, on Friday for alleged sexual abuse of a minor.
Davault, a 35-year-old white male, faces several charges, including three counts of first-degree sodomy and three counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12.
The arrest came after a three-month investigation by the sheriff’s office in cooperation with the Crenshaw County Department of Human Resources.
The investigation was launched in October when investigators received notice of possible sexual abuse of an 11-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 4-year-old child.
“During the investigation, officers found significant evidence to support warrants signed for the listed charges,” said investigator Chris Stewart.
Davault is held at the Crenshaw County Jail without bond.
This case is still under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
