Meet Me At The Cross

A few weeks ago, my wife and I had the opportunity to go to Fort Lauderdale, before the floods hit, and before the Spring Breakers hit as well! She was there for meetings; I was just there.
Where we stayed, and where the meetings were, was right on the ocean. Each morning we would get out of bed early, make each of us a cup of coffee, and go out on the balcony of our room to enjoy the arrival of the new day and to begin our day with prayer. Wherever you may find yourself, don’t leave God behind. Never forget that old rugged cross and the love shown there!
Her meetings involved night as well as daytime sessions. At night, before her meetings were over, I could go and sit on the balcony and watch the sunset. It was a beautiful sight each day we were there. I wrote the following one evening as I sat on that balcony looking out on the Atlantic.
“Day is done!
From the sun raising its head to peak over the eastern horizon until it settles into the dusk and the darkness of the night, day has passed. Nature and humanity have been gifted another day.
There is a peace upon the Atlantic as the light abates and the dark takes control. In nature the might of the Almighty is shown. The ocean obeys Him in keeping the boundaries He has set, with only occasional catastrophic disobedience.
But tonight, night has calmly settled, and nature has succumbed to it.
May God bless humanity and nature with another day. May we watch the brilliance of another sunrise.
And may, we make the most of the precious gift. Day is done. The night now rules. May peace be yours!”
