Update: The Highway has reopened.

A traffic crash has blocked southbound  lanes of U.S. Highway 331 Saturday.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Senior Trooper Anna People’s announced that a two-vehicle crash which occurred around 2:02 p.m. near Smith Lake Road in Crenshaw County blocked both southbound lanes of Hwy 331.

According to Peoples, the roadway will be blocked for an undetermined amount of time while the scene is cleared.

”The northbound lanes have been rerouted to run 2-way traffic at this time.,” Peoples said.

Troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
