Luverne meets Charles Henderson in volleyball contest

The Luverne School hosted Charles Henderson in varsity and junior varsity volleyball contests on Aug. 24. The junior varsity prevailed (25-22, 25-18) with leading players Riley Flynn gaining six aces and Tatum Ballard with five. Team members that contributed to the win were Flynn, Ballard, Kaylee Evans, Abby Gooden, Kiersten Moneyham, Chloe Burgans, Chelsea Owens, Sofia Reyes, and Jamie Morgan.
Luverne’s varsity lost the first set, 23-25, but won the next three by scores of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-15. Stat leaders included: Zyan Peterson with four aces and six kills, Finley Marchand with eight aces and Rashiya Berry with 13 aces. Other varsity team members are Kaylee Frazier, Makaylah Green, Maggie Morgan, Carlie Ann Hammonds, Olivia Sue Cornett, and Brooke Horn.
