Meet Freya, a one-year-old Calico cat. According to Freya’s owner, Crislen Farquhar of Luverne, Freya is more than just a feline; she’s a source of endless laughter, warmth and companionship.
Rescued from the sunny shores of South Florida, Freya’s name is inspired by a Greek Goddess, perfectly suiting her regal demeanor. Freya is known for her spunky personality, and her playful antics keep her family entertained. One of Freya’s favorite pastimes is a bit unconventional for a cat: playing fetch. She will chase after a toy and bring it back to her owner, just like a dog.
However, it’s not all play for Freya. She also thoroughly enjoys eating and taking long, luxurious catnaps and this unique Calico cat spends her nights curled up in bed with her owner.
Freya shares her home with an extended family of pets, including two other cats and four dogs. If you’re seeking a furry friend who’s as lively and lovable as Freya, consider visiting a local animal shelter or rescue organization. You never know when you might find your very own “Pet of the Week.”
If you have a beloved pet with an extraordinary story to tell, we’d love to hear about it. Visit https://www.luvernejournal.com/pet-of-the-week/#/rounds/1/gallery to share your heartwarming tales of furry (or scaly, slimy or feathery) companions who make our lives brighter.
