In the heart of Crenshaw County, there’s a charismatic three-year-old Labrador Retriever stealing hearts left and right. Cash, the pride and joy of Kase and Cidney Britton of Luverne, is this week’s Crenshaw County Animal Clinic Pet of the Week.
Described by his adoring owners as “the bestest boy,” Cash is a bundle of energy and affection. His love for adventure is evident in his enthusiasm for running and playing fetch. He knows several commands including sit, stay and lay down. Cash’s distinctive black coat of fur led to his name, drawing inspiration from the iconic Johnny Cash, the man in black. Cash loves to snuggle and is known to cozy up in laps, blissfully unaware of his size.
One of Cash’s favorite pastimes is a visit to his grandparents’ farm, where he gets to frolic with his doggy cousins, Levi and Remmy. The farm becomes a playground for the trio, filled with joyous barks and wagging tails. Cash’s owners highlight his unique personality, likening it to that of a teenager with a funny attitude and a knack for understanding human conversations.
An aficionado of toys, Cash has a special fondness for his toy pig and a preference for tennis balls during playtime. His discerning taste even extends to his diet, as Cash is a picky eater with a loyalty to a specific brand of dog food. His owners affectionately note that he won’t even entertain the idea of any other canine cuisine. However, Cash’s favorite treat is an unexpected delight—a banana.
