Jessie Patrick Merrill, 83, of 195 Merrill Hall Rd., Roxboro, North Carolina died Saturday, Jan. 27. Born in Montgomery, Mr. Merrill was the son of the late Jesse and Edna Sue Seaborn Merrill. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Wayne Merrill. Mr. Merrill served in the US Navy and retired after 32 years with GTE.

Mr. Merrill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Burt Merrill; three children, Anthony Patrick Merrill (Michelle), Mary Katherine Hall (Kermit) and Timothy Scott Merrill (Susan); four grandchildren, Christopher Michael Hall, Cameron Anderson Hall, John Patrick Merrill and Andrew Scott Merrill.

A private memorial service will be held in Greenville at a later date.
