Over the next few weeks, the Christian Church will have the opportunity to participate in the Lenten season. Lent is the time of year we transition from winter to spring and the church prepares itself for the coming of Easter.
Lent is a time of prayer, rebirth, and renewal as we seek to have a deeper relationship with God through prayer, almsgiving, and fasting. If you are like me, I would assume that you have probably already given up your New Year’s resolution from just a few short weeks ago. Lent is an opportunity to hit the reset button as we embark on the spiritual journey to seek out the things holding us back from becoming the person God has called us to be. A
s we go through the Lenten season, not only do we lay burdens down such as habits that can be unhealthy, but in this holy season we can begin to pick up some holy habits that will help us along our Christian journey.
Over the next six weeks, we will have the opportunity for spiritual growth in our Christian walk as we draw nearer to the Lord. Lent is for anyone who wishes to have a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and anything that we can do that draws us closer to the Lord is a good thing. Lent is a season full of grace.
Let us journey together towards the glorious Resurrection Day of the Lord.
