Troy University celebrates spring graduates

Troy University has announced the graduation of students who fulfilled their academic requirements during the Spring Semester and Term 4 of the 2023-2024 academic year. The announcement encompasses graduates from the main campus in Troy as well as those from Troy’s additional campuses in Dothan, Phenix City, and Montgomery, including teaching sites outside Alabama and online programs.

Among the graduates are several students from the local area, including Crenshaw County, graduates Milan Stockinger, Collin Williamson, Samuel Weed and Emma Hurst, all of Brantley and Luverne natives Carmen Tate, Joshua Hermeling, MacKenzie Helms, Anna Lowe and Rebecca Billings.

Butler County graduates include Deidra Smith, Bonnie-Kathryn Till, Noah Lovvorn and Alexandria Albritton of Greenville. Also from Butler County were graduates Jonathan Sheffield and Bre’Shunna Smith-Posey of Georgiana.

Additionally, Amber Wynn of Letohatchee and Kemafia Coleman from Hayneville were among Lowndes County natives celebrating their Troy University graduation.

During the May commencement ceremony, keynote speaker and state Senator Arthur Orr challenged graduates to achieve matters of lasting importance.

“…my challenge to you today is to earn the sacrifices of those who went before you and for those who paid dearly for the freedoms we enjoy,” Orr said. “I challenge you to live a life well lived with no regrets…to reflect more, risk more and seek to achieve matters of lasting importance.”
