Board denies parole request for Billy Rodgers

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles denied the parole petition from an inmate serving time for burglaries in Crenshaw County.

On Oct. 22,, the board voted to deny parole to Billy Gene Rodgers, 53. He is currently housed in the Bibb County Correctional Facility, serving two 15-year terms for third-degree burglary convictions handed down in March 2023.

Rodgers was convicted on two counts of third-degree burglary in May 2021 and one count of possession/receiving a controlled substance Class D in December 2020. 

The board heard 23 parole petitions on Oct. 22, granting seven and denying 16. The board also held 10 pardon hearings, granting seven and denying three.
