Brantley School is facing a leadership transition after the recent resignation of Principal Marcus Taylor, whose departure has left the school’s top administrative position vacant. Interim Superintendent Gregory Faught confirmed that Taylor’s resignation has been accepted, and the search for his replacement is underway.
“Mr. Taylor has resigned as principal at Brantley School,” said Faught. “I will begin interviewing for the job this week. I hope to make a recommendation to the board as soon as possible.”
The status of Assistant Principal Sarah Driggers Osbourne remains unclear, as Faught did not provide any information on whether or not she will continue to serve as assistant principal.
The resignation of Taylor and the uncertainty surrounding Osbourne’s role have sparked questions about the school’s direction and stability. However, Faught expressed the board’s commitment to a swift and thorough selection process and to prioritizing stability and continuity for Brantley School’s students, faculty and staff amid the administrative shifts.
Fought said the board’s goal is to ensure a smooth transition and maintain a productive learning environment while leadership changes are finalized. The community awaits further updates from the district on the future leadership of Brantley School.
