Holiday Fair

Crenshaw County Extension will host their annual holiday fair Dec. 2 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Tom Harbin Ag Center in Luverne.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Monday and Thursday evening at First Baptist Church in Luverne. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. 

Tree Lighting

The Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce will host a Christmas Tree lighting Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 6 – 7 p.m. at Douglas Park in downtown Live. The event will feature live entertainment plus a visit from Santa and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Santa Visit

The Luverne Public Library will host a visit with Santa for all ages on Dec. 3 from 3 – 6 p.m.

Kiwanis Club

The Luverne Kiwanis Club meets at the Chicken Shack at 12 p.m. The group’s next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 3.

Mommie and Me

The Luverne Public Library hosts a program for moms and young children each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The next meeting will be this Tuesday.

Christmas Trail

The Christmas Trail is an advertising opportunity featuring Christmas trees along the walking trail of Douglas Park in Luverne throughout December. All proceeds from the free attraction will benefit the Corey Bozeman Memorial Scholarship. Contact Justin Jacobs at (334) 482-3321 for details.

Luverne Parade

The Crenshaw CountyChamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas Parade Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. in downtown Luverne. Lineup starts at Luverne High School at 4:30 p.m.  The entry fee is an unwrapped toy. Contact Ruth Bayman for details at (334) 268-2807.

Brantley Christmas

The Front Porch Christmas Festival and Parade is scheduled for Dec. 7. Starting at 12 p.m. Expect music, vendors, Santa, food and fun. Vendor fee is $20. Applications are available at the Town Hall and Overflow Cafe.  Call or text (334) 343-2128 for details.

Sylvia’s Produce in Lapine will host the Grinch, Santa and Mrs. Claus with their friends Cindy Lou Who and Buddy the Elf Dec. 7, 2 – 6 p.m. and Dec. 8, 12 – 5:30 p.m. Free photo sessions are available with no appointment needed.

Mobile Screening

The Crenshaw County Health Department offers mobile mammography screening the second Tuesday each month. The next session is on Dec. 10. Call (334) 747-4769 or visit the health department at 15 Hospital Drive in Luverne to schedule an appointment.
