This week’s Luverne Veterinary Hospital Pet of the Week is Barkley, a delightful one-year-old Cockalier, a mix of Cocker Spaniel and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Barkley lives in Luverne with his owner, Katelynn Eddins, and has captured hearts with his playful antics and sweet personality.

Barkley’s bedtime routine includes a must-have — his beloved toy lamb. This cherished companion helps him settle in for the night, snuggled up close to Katelynn.

Barkley can sit, shake and fetch with ease. He even puts on a show by standing on his hind legs and spinning in a circle for his favorite treats: Milk-Bones.

Despite being a picky eater, Barkley is full of energy and enthusiasm. He loves running and playing outside with his canine friends, fetching toys, and most of all, riding in the car with his head out the window to enjoy the breeze.

Barkley has a few special needs, including monthly shots to manage his allergies, but that doesn’t slow him down. Though feisty when meeting new people, he quickly warms up, revealing his sweet nature and becoming a devoted protector to those he loves.
