Lewis Pest Control, a family-owned business with over six decades in the industry, has opened its newest location at 8 Forest Avenue in Luverne. From humble beginnings in Thomasville, the company has grown into a regional leader in pest control, servicing residential and commercial clients across Alabama, South Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle, including cities like Biloxi, Mobile and Pensacola.

Founded in 1963 by husband-and-wife team Burke and Erin Lewis, the operation began with a focus on quality service and hometown pride. The company is now operated by their sons Alan, Neil and Scott Lewis who continue to honor the family-oriented values that have defined Lewis Pest Control for over 60 years.

“We’re thrilled to bring Lewis Pest Control to Luverne,” Alan said. “We already had a nice customer base in Crenshaw County and the hometown feel of Luverne made it the perfect fit.”

The Luverne location will service a broad area, including cities, towns and communities in various counties including Butler, Crenshaw, Covington, Coffee, Lowndes, Pike and others.

Lewis Pest Control’s services range from traditional pest management to commercial and industrial pest solutions tailored to specific needs. The company prides itself on its eco-friendly, Integrated Pest Management approach, which minimizes pesticide use while delivering effective results.

For wildlife control, the company’s “Critter Gitter” service ensures humane removal of raccoons, bats, snakes, and more, followed by thorough cleanup and repair of any damage caused by the animals.

Today, the Lewis brothers not only run the pest control business but also manage Lewis Properties and Lewis General Contractors. The Lewis family businesses frequently support local revitalization projects. Most recently, they assisted with the now completed renovation of a historic building in downtown Thomasville, repurposing it as a museum and public library. Currently, the team is engaged in revitalizing the historic Gaineswood house in Demopolis, continuing their commitment to preserving and enhancing the region’s heritage.

Despite its growth, Lewis Pest Control remains committed to its family-oriented values.

“We are fortunate to have great employees and little turnover,” said Scott Lewis, president of Lewis Pest Control. “Our employees live and work in the communities we serve and as a result are dedicated to delivering the best possible service.”

Lewis Pest Control’s commitment to the community extends beyond pest management. Mike Murphy, director of Marketing and Business Development, emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting local initiatives.

“We look forward to opportunities to give back to Luverne and Crenshaw County,” said Murphy. “Our company is built on relationships, and we’re excited to become a part of this community.

“Although our Luverne location is currently staffed, we have a continuous open register for qualified employees.”
