The Crenshaw County Children’s Policy Council’s partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library has enrolled 134 children under the age of 5 to receive monthly books. So far, there have been 112 free books mailed to local children free of charge.
“We are pleased to provide this service to our Crenshaw County children,” said Crenshaw County District Judge Jon M. Folmar, who chairs the Children’s Policy Council. “Experts tell us that a child’s brain develops most of its learning potential from birth to age 5, and the more stimulation of the brain through the reading of books and learning, the more neurons in the brain become more active enhancing brain development.”
Registration is easy and free. Simply fill out one of the forms and mail it to Crenshaw County CPC Inc. Attn. Judge Jon M. Folmar at P.O. Box 66, Luverne, AL 36049 or register online at Dolly Parton Imagination Library’s website, www.imaginationlibrary.com.
Judge Jon M. Folmar is District Judge for Crenshaw County.
