Maverick “Mavey” Rogers, a one-year-old Dachshund from Luverne, is the Luverne Veterinary Hospital’s Pet of the Week. Owned by Jody Rogers, Mavey has quickly become a beloved member of the Rogers family, charming everyone with his playful and quirky personality.

Mavey’s favorite pastime is playing fetch, particularly with his favorite ball, which he never tires of chasing. While many dogs go wild for peanut butter, Mavey isn’t one of them. He prefers to pass on the popular treat, opting instead for Puperoni, his favorite snack.

Mavey has a unique way of sitting. Often found perched on his bottom in a human-like position, he spends his days lounging comfortably, enjoying his relaxed lifestyle.
At night, Mavey snuggles up with his humans, offering companionship and warmth. His affection is obvious, especially when Jody returns home from work, as Mavey greets him with an energetic display of vocal barks and puppy hugs — a clear sign of how much he’s missed his human companion.
