Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Monday and Thursday evening at First Baptist Church in Luverne. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

McVay Farms and Sardis Lumber will host a farm swap Oct. 12 at Sardis Lumber 14505 Montgomery Highway, Highland Home starting at 8 a.m. 

Pumpkin Painting

The Luverne Library will host Pumpkin Painting Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 – 11 a.m. Pumpkins and paint will be provided.

Grief Group

Luverne Church of Christ offers a monthly class for individuals grieving the loss of a loved one. The class meets the 1st Monday each month at 6 p.m. The next class is scheduled for Oct. 14.

Kiwanis Club

The Luverne Kiwanis Club meets at the Chicken Shack at 12 p.m. The group’s next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15.

Mommie and Me

The Luverne Public Library hosts a program for moms and young children each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The next meeting will be this Tuesday.

A fundraiser for the Family of Jason Bowen is scheduled for Oct. 20, 2-6 p.m. at Ed Turner Park in Luverne. The cost is $20 for a bucket of balls. Prizes, food and family fun will be featured.

The Brantley Food Bank will distribute food Oct. 21 starting at 8 a.m.

Treats On Us

Treats On Us will be held in a closed off section of road in front of the  courthouse Oct. 26 from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Live band, food trucks, kids activities and more. 

Responder Breakfast

The first responder breakfast hosted by First Luverne Baptist Church and the Luverne PD will take place Oct. 26. All responders — fire and rescue, law enforcement, telecommunications officers — are invited to attend for a time of food, fellowship and encouragement.

Trunk or Treat

The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office invites the community to the 2nd Annual Trunk-R-Treat at Turner Park Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 6 – 8 p.m. RSVP at (334) 335-6568.
