Luverne Kiwanians gained an inside look at the Crenshaw County District Court as Judge Jon Folmar addressed members during the group’s Oct. 1 meeting at the Chicken Shack. Folmar described recent initiatives aimed at helping area youths and hinted at the launch of a new literacy program set to kick off later this month. After answering questions, Folmar committed to joining the civic organization which works to inform members on local issues of importance and to serve Crenshaw County youths through scholarship opportunities and recognition events.

The Luverne Kiwanis Club meets at noon on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Chicken Shack. The community is welcome to attend a meeting to learn more about joining.
