Jackie Ray Wolfe, 58, a lifelong resident of Luverne, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, Oct. 30. A celebration of Jackie’s life will  be held at a later time.

The only way to possibly describe Jackie is that he was such a character that ensured you’d never forget him once you met him! He was a jack of all trades who was multi-talented in various fields and arenas of life. While Jackie had a reputation for generous spending and giving, he was also a firm believer in working hard for every dollar he earned. Like many from this area, he spent time working on the pipeline, but he was also a brilliant mechanic who could fix anything. He especially enjoyed his time as a long-haul truck driver because it combined several of his favorite activities: driving, exploring new places, and meeting new people.

You see, Jackie was the very definition of a “people person.” There was no one he didn’t know and no one he couldn’t strike up a conversation with. He had a rare gift in making others feel at ease in his company while also being able to be the life of the party wherever he roamed. He could be the envy of many for such talents and they served him well throughout his life. Lord help you though if you agreed to a “let’s go get a Coca Cola” trip because no one could turn a trip like that into an all-day adventure where you might wind up in a whole different state from where you started!

Jackie was an extremely intelligent man while also “blessed” with a very strong will and an outspoken nature. In his youth, he loved few things more than hunting and fishing. In fact, his summers were usually spent on a pond or lake fishing for crappie or other kinds with his twin sister and their brothers. In his free time over the years, he could often be found watching one of his favorite old shows, from “Sanford and Son” to “Gunsmoke,” which he watched so often he could say the lines before the characters. He was also passionate about music, especially blues and old (true) country, but he was also an extremely gifted musician himself. He had a brilliant ear for music which enabled him to play anything he heard on just about any instrument he picked up.

His guitar was his passion though. So much so that he taught himself to continue to play even after an injury to his arm prevented him from playing in a more traditional fashion. Of course, that’s just who Jackie was. He was an extremely passionate person about anything he enjoyed and the people he loved. This particular social butterfly was always prepared for a gathering of either his friends or family, and usually was the one planning it! He was especially inseparable from his beloved twin sister and truly cherished their unbreakable bond because there was nothing on this earth, he was more passionate about than his family. He was truly a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who enhanced the lives of all those who knew and loved him. He’s gone far too soon from this world and will be missed far more than words could possibly express.

Jackie was preceded in death by his daughter, Miranda Nicole Wolfe; grandparents, Shelby Jackson and Leona Thaggard Wolfe and Joe Frank and Levie Leila Tomlin; and stepfather, Raymond Arsenault. He is survived by his beloved children, Todd Wolfe (Jessica McCullough), Brittany Wolfe (Taylor Mount), William Moore, Cody Chrzastek and Brianna Ramer; grandchildren, Peyton Mount, Axl Mount, Jackie Marie Mount, Taylor Mount, Kaydence Rayburn, Madaleign Rayburn, Dallas Eddins, Novaleigh Jeffcoat and Ariat Ramer; parents, Billy Wolfe and Barbara Tomlin Arsenault; his cherished twin sister, Jacquelyn Wolfe; brothers, BJ (Vickie) Wolfe and Tony (Brooke) Wolfe; nieces and nephews, Kamelia (Sam) Bowlan, Mitchell Holley (Regina Laird), Levi Tansey (Brittany) Franklin, Ryne Wolfe, Hunter Wolfe, Kathryn Wolfe, Anna Marie (Mark) Sanders and Courtney Wolfe; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
