This week’s Luverne Veterinary Hospital Pet of the Week is Angel, a playful and affectionate one-year-old Jack Russell who recently celebrated her first birthday June 4. Angel lives in Luverne with her owner, Jami Hicks Dobbs.

Angel’s favorite activities include joining her owner for Friday night dinner outings, where she loves the ride and chance to explore, as well as four-wheeler rides that let her feel the wind in her fur. True to her Jack Russell nature, she keeps herself busy in creative ways. 

One of Angel’s quirks is stealing all the couch blankets, and she’s often seen carrying her food and water bowls from room to room. Her habit of hiding toys in unexpected places keeps her family entertained. 

Angel also has a favorite snack — carrots — and she ends her days by curling up with her owner at night.

Angel knows several commands, including sit, shake, sit up and high-five, and she responds quickly when asked to go to her crate. Recently, Angel has shown a special talent for comforting her family during a difficult time. While she’s known for playfully nibbling on family members, she instinctively pauses her playful energy to provide love and support just when they need it. This young Jack Russell’s presence brings strength and joy to her family, showing just how much a pet’s love can truly mean.
