Dolly Parton Imagination Library coming to Crenshaw County
The Crenshaw County Children’s Policy Council will have an official launch celebration for the Imagination Library of Crenshaw County that will be open to the public Nov. 20 at noon in the Crenshaw County Courthouse main courtroom.
Everyone is cordially invited to join the council members and register their child under the age of 5 to begin receiving their FREE book from Dolly each month.
The Crenshaw County Children’s Policy Council has partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to provide children from birth to age five with high-quality books, one each month, delivered straight to their home, at no cost to families.
With over 1,000 children ages birth to five in this small county, the Children’s Policy Council is proud to bring books to every household, regardless of the family’s income. We believe that reading is the key to opening the door to millions of possibilities for these children. Reading supports early literacy and provides a bond with families.
Created in 1995, The Dollywood Foundation launched Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to inspire a love of reading and learning in children. Dolly wanted to share her life and legacy as an inspiration to all children to “Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More.”
Shortly after Judge Folmar’s appointment, he began working to launch the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Crenshaw County. He has worked countless hours and faced many hurdles along the way to launch this program.
There is no cost to the family to enroll their child or children in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The Children’s Policy Council is a non-profit incorporation providing the cost for the books to your child. For the first year, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library will provide half the cost for our non-profit incorporation. The rest will be donation funded.
