On Sunday, Nov. 24, the Church will be celebrating the reign of Christ. Christ the King Sunday is one of my favorite days on the Church calendar.

It is important in the life of the Church as it marks the end of the liturgical year. It encourages us to look back over the last few months and look forward to a new season with hope and excitement. Lastly and most importantly, it reminds the Christian faithful that everything and everyone is under the authority of Jesus Christ.

The world and everything in it belongs to Him, everything and every person is under His authority. We remember that Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and there is no other. His lordship does not come from any man, in Him is truth and life, full of grace, mercy, and love. In Him is compassion for all mankind.

Just a few weeks ago, we celebrated his glorious resurrection from the dead. Not even death could hold our Lord and Savior. Christ the King Sunday is the perfect completion of the Church year, reminding us of His victory over sin and death.

As we celebrate Christ the King Sunday, let us remember and honor the authority and lordship of Jesus Christ in our lives as we submit to His will and follow Him faithfully.

With that, we are asked this question: is Christ the King of your life?

May His love and grace guide us in all that we do. Christ is King today, tomorrow, and forever.

Come, let us worship the Lord our Mighty King!

May God abundantly bless you.
