The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office and Lurleen B. Wallace Workforce Development and Continuing Education are making strides in transforming lives through their re-entry program. Captain Angel Hebert and Sheriff Terry Mears, along with District Judge Jon Folmar, expressed gratitude for the partnership, highlighting its impact on both individuals and the broader community. The program provides incarcerated individuals with valuable skills through courses like “Skills for Success Electrical” and Heavy Equipment Training,” fostering opportunities for meaningful employment post-release. Recently, the first group of inmates completed training aimed to decrease the likelihood of their returning to jail after release by improving their employability through job training.
