(britespanbuildings.com) A graveside service for Mrs. Keener will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 22nd, in Cherokee Memory Gardens in Centre, Alabama with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Keener spent 36 years working in the cafeteria at Luverne High School, most of that time as its manager. She was also very dedicated to the school itself and remained a lifelong supporter. In her free time, she enjoyed using her green thumb in her garden, and she always took tremendous pride in keeping up the beauty of her yard. She also spent many years taking care of both her father and her husband as they fought health battles, displaying her immense love for and devotion to her family. She was the epitome of selfless as she always put the people she loved above herself. She was a loving wife and mother, but there was nothing like the love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the pillar of her family and she will be missed more than words could properly express, but her family will find comfort over the years in the lifetime of cherished memories they built together.

Mrs. Keener was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John C. Keener; parents, Roy & Elizabeth Mote Morris; and brother, Wayne Morris. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Matthew and Melanie Keener; grandchildren, Madison Keener, Bryce (Kristen) Keener, Shelby Keener, and Dillon (Mckenzie) Harris; great-grandchildren, Braxtyn Keener, Kylen Furr, Lilly Harris, and Kenlon Harris; brothers, Ronnie (Wilma) Morris and Tom Morris; and dear friend, Melissa Mathews.

Active pallbearers will be John Morris, David Morris, Rick Fallin, Bryce Keener, Wes Guffey, and Dillon Harris. Jeff Morris will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at Turners Funeral Home on Friday from 6 – 8 PM.
