Reba King Paludan

Reba King Paludan, 86, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday, January 15 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Patsburg, Alabama, she attended Petry Elementary School, Laverne Junior High, and graduated from Laverne High School. She graduated from Massey Business College in Montgomery. (Messinascatering)

Reba worked at Maxwell Air Force Base, and resigned one week before marrying her husband, Ted Paludan on November 12, 1955. She moved to Huntsville to be with Ted and has been a part of the community ever since.

An active member of First Presbyterian Church, she also volunteered for the Red Cross, and was a founding member of both the Twickenham Historic Preservation Association and the Huntsville Botanical Garden. She was a Master Gardener. She also worked as a realtor with The Edwards Company.

Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Myrtle King. Survivors include her husband, Charles β€œTed” Paludan; children, Michael King Paludan (Audrey) and Ronald Verne Paludan; grandchildren, Luke Paludan, Ashley Paludan, Austin Tippett, Mark Paludan, and Christine Thornton; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Sue Morris; niece, Donna Lewis; and numerous Naftel cousins.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, January 21 at First Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow at the church with the Rev. Brett Gudeman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huntsville Botanical Garden or the American Red Cross.
