Crenshaw Community Hospital employees enter annual pumpkin decorating contest
By Staff Reports
The tinman, Winifred Sanderson, and a vicious shark were just a few of the characters portrayed by the pumpkins on display Monday in the lobby of Crenshaw Community Hospital.
The 14 decorated pumpkins were part of the hospital’s annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest open to all Crenshaw County Hospital employees.
The competition featured four categories: Best Overall, Scariest, Most Creative, and People’s Choice, which was awarded based on votes from hospital employees. The judges for the contest were Merrill Sport, Crenshaw County Commissioner; Becky Baggett, headmaster at Crenshaw Christian Academy; and Haley Mitchell Godwin, reporter for The Luverne Journal.
Prizes for the winners included gift certificates from AMP and This N That Antiques and Collectibles, along with gift baskets donated by Comfort Care Hospice/Aveanna. This N That also supplied a table centerpiece as a prize, and the Luverne Kiwanis Club provided a candle, blanket, and Corkcicle cup to be used as awards.
