Luverne School will hold its 40th annual First grade play in the school auditorium on April 20 at 6 p.m. The annual event is sponsored by the Dee Turner Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and is presented in honor and memory of Elaine McDougald Goodwin, a life-long educator and member of the Luverne family. After Mrs. Goodwin lost her battle with cancer, the PTA created a $2,000 scholarship which is awarded to a deserving member of the senior class each year. The PTA partners with first grade teachers to fund the scholarship with ticket sales from the play. Tickets for this year’s play, ” BUGZ,” will be on sale April 17 from 3:00-5:00 in front of the elementary office. Tickets will also be available at the door. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m.
