Blakely Murphy was voted the winner of The Luverne Journal’s inaugural 1st Day of School Photo Contest. She is 4.5 years old and started K4 at Kids Declaring Christ (KDC) preschool in Brantley this year. Blakely was nominated by her mother Autumn Murphy who said her daughter is excited about all the things she will learn and do in Mrs. Mallorie’s class. Blakely received 184 votes to emerge the winner.

Jayce and Symphony Liggett placed second in The Luverne Journal’s inaugural 1st Day of School Photo Contest, receiving 104 votes. The brother and sister are Kindergarten and fourth-grade students at Luverne School. Parrish Gay, a K4 student at Kids Declaring Christ (KDC) preschool in Brantley came in third place, receiving 71 votes.
