The Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) has selected an All-State boys basketball team each March since 1983. ASWA selects a first, second, and third team along with up to four honorable mention players. This year’s team includes the Tony Stallworth Invitational All-Team electee Jayden Parks, a 5-foot-8 foot guard. Parks, who is a sophomore at Brantley High School, was chosen for the ASWA 1A second-team all-state and this is his second, back-to-back all-state nomination. He was all-tournament for the area tournament and he played on the regional all-tournament team. He averaged 19 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
Other stars announced Sunday for the 1A ASWA All-State second team were Marion County High School, junior guard Joe Aldridge at 6-foot-1, Covenant Christian High School, sophomore forward Jalen Chandler at 6-foot-6, and Jasaveion Moore, a Loachapoka High School senior guard, 6-foot-2.
