Crenshaw County Schools (CCS) is celebrating a notable achievement as it received a commendable overall score of 83, earning a “B” on the 2022-2023 Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) State Report Card.

Alabama schools, as a whole, remained at 83 compared to the previous year, but Crenshaw County Public Schools demonstrated a positive trend by increasing their score by one point, moving from 82 to 83.

Superintendent of Crenshaw County Schools Dodd Hawthorne expressed his pride, commending the collective effort of the school community and thanking all CCS employees for their dedication and hard work.

“We couldn’t be more proud to announce that Crenshaw County Schools has achieved yet another remarkable accomplishment,” Hawthorne said. “Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Your exceptional effort has inspired us all to strive for greatness. You have proven that with perseverance, success can be achieved. Your outstanding achievements are a testament to your incredible skills, expertise, and tireless efforts. The impact you have made on our district and beyond is truly remarkable, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have you as part of the Crenshaw County School System.”

State Superintendent, Dr. Eric Mackey highlighted the significance of the ALSDE State Report Card in providing transparent, comprehensive and easily understandable information about public education in Alabama.

“We want everyone to be aware of what is going on in the schools across our state,” Mackey said. “We are committed to providing easily manipulative online tools that show rich, detailed data in a way that is intuitive, simple, readable, and parent-friendly. This is a useful resource for anyone interested in Alabama’s public education data.”
