Five contestants to vie for 2024 Distinguished Young Woman
The Crenshaw County’s Distinguished Young Women program will be held this Saturday at the Luverne United Methodist Church Dei Center at 2:00 p.m. Five young women from around the county will compete to be named Crenshaw County’s 2024 Distinguished Young Woman. The girls will show their skills in five different portions of competition; scholastics, interview, talent, self expression, and physical fitness. The participants will compete for almost $5,000 worth of scholarship money. There are seven girls from around the county that will serve as little sisters for the participants. The DYW mission aims to empower young women to reach their full potential by providing scholarship opportunities for college as well as personal development to become confident leaders. Tickets are $7 and are available at the door.
