Brantley baseball honors seniors, clinches area win
On Friday, April 16, the Brantley High School Baseball team honored eight senior players and clinched the top spot in 1A Area three with two wins over the McKenzie Tigers. Baseball seniors honored included Dalton Daniels, Carson Jones, Jack Kennedy, Luke Kilcrease, Mark Nichols, Dylan Smith, Macky Wallace and Ethan Weed.
Brantley defeated McKenzie in two games on Friday with scores of 15-0 and 13-1 respectively. Brantley’s team was undefeated in area play with a record of 7-0. The Bulldogs rounded out regular season play versus Greenville at home on Monday, April 19, defeating the Tigers with a score of 18-11.
In the first round of the playoffs, Brantley will host the Area 1 Runner-up, the Millry Wildcats. The first game will be played at 5 P.M. on Friday, April 23, with the second game to follow at 7:30 pm. A third game will be played on Saturday, April 24, at 1 P.M. if necessary. The winner of two out of three games will advance to the second round of the playoffs.
